Tobago Plantation Golf & Country Club, to give it its full title, is an exiting new golf course, located on the 750-acre Lowlands Estate. Previously a sugar cane plantation, this estate is being developed into a major tourist resort, incorporating a luxury hotel, villas and condominiums and water sports facilities. The flat terrain of the old plantation has been sensitively planned around the mature trees and landscape features. Designed by a British golf course designer, the trade winds from the adjacent Atlantic Ocean help to give this 7,000 yard course a distinct links feel. Some holes follow the coastline. Other, in stark contrast, weave their way through mature palm trees and mangroves.
